Clayton Facilities Raise Funds for Cancer Center
Six East Tennessee Clayton Home Building Group® facilities and the Clayton Foundation presented Morristown Regional Cancer Center with a check for $67,334.11 for the cancer center’s Patient Assistance Fund, an effort that reflects our value to Do good in the communities in which our team members live and work.

This year’s donation is one of the largest in the history of this fundraising partnership. Since 2017, Clayton has donated more than $304,000 to the cancer center. Clayton presented the donation at the 10th annual 5K Jingle Run for Hope, a major fundraiser for the cancer center.
The Patient Assistance Fund provides financial support to patients undergoing cancer treatment at the Morristown Regional Cancer Center and their families. Providing gas cards to help get patients to their treatments, assisting with utility bill payments, and helping purchase treatment-related prescriptions are just some of the ways the Patient Assistance Fund supports its recipients.
This year, Clayton Morristown Supply, Clayton Morristown Lux Interior Doors, TRU White Pine, Clayton Rutledge, Clayton Bean Station and Clayton Giles participated in the fundraising effort. Team members at these locations raised a total of $27,057.67, and the facilities contributed an additional $20,276.44. The Clayton Foundation donated an additional $20,000.
“Clayton team members are a special group with compassionate hearts,” said Kinsley Ulin, team member experience manager at Clayton Rutledge. “Many of our team members have received funds from the Patient Assistance Fund or know someone who has. We are delighted to support this organization each year.”
Fundraising efforts by team members at the participating facilities included events such as bake sales, cookouts and T-shirt and hat sales. One team member at Clayton Rutledge, a woodworker, auctioned his handcrafted furniture; other team members at the facility baked homemade treats for a pre-Thanksgiving dessert auction. A team member at Clayton Giles held a raffle for a handmade quilt she made from breast cancer awareness fabrics. The raffle winner planned to share it with family members who had themselves experienced breast cancer.

“We greatly appreciate the support and passion of Clayton team members,” said Gordon Lintz, president and chief administrative officer of Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. “They got very creative in raising money to help patients on a personal journey with cancer. With Clayton’s support of the Patient Assistance fund, patients can focus on their treatment and recovery. We are so grateful for Clayton and the many ways they serve our community.”
