Whitewashed
Cabinets with a whitewashed finish play well with a variety of soothing cool tones. They pair seamlessly with grays, muted blues and stainless steel, complementing coastal, Scandinavian and transitional decor. The Charlynn, shown below, has a slightly worn-in aesthetic that puts a space instantly at ease.

Ebony
Deep, ebony-stained cabinetry, like Suny Valley, exudes sophistication and a dash of drama. It contrasts especially well with light countertops and bold accents, and it’s ideal for modern rooms that are homey at heart. Prevent the dark wood tone from reading heavy by introducing textured items like tiles, textiles and plants.

Warm Wood
Warm and mid-toned cabinetry brings depth without tipping into rustic territory. The Ryman features a honey-hued finish with realistic graining and subtle knot details. Caramel, wheat and toasted oak undertones pair with virtually any color scheme and create a sense of approachable luxury.

Sage
Cabinetry in shades of sage or muted olive offers a refined balance between earthy warmth and contemporary neutrality. Painted finishes like Evergreen deliver a tailored look without forgoing warmth. That balance makes it especially appealing for homeowners who want something both polished and livable. This cabinetry works especially will for cottage, modern farmhouse and boho-inspired interiors.

Putty
The right putty-hued cabinetry, like Stone, has just enough gray to stay grounded and enough beige to feel soft. It's often referred to as “the new white,” and it’s easy to see why: This tone reads as a true neutral that appears light and quiet in the morning, and warmer and moodier in the evening. It’s the kind of color that stays in the background while a kitchen’s other details and finishes do the talking.
