Arbor Homes was founded in 1994 when homebuilder Curtis Rector put a business plan in place with the mission to offer homes to first time homebuyers in Greater Indianapolis that would deliver on both quality and affordability. After surpassing his business goals within the first year and with a growing team by his side, Curtis diversified his portfolio with the launch of Arbor Homes’ sister company, Silverthorne Homes, in 2004. Silverthorne Homes was designed to meet the needs of growing families and larger specifications that may not be found in a first-time home.

Curtis recognized the parallels between Clayton and the Arbor Homes culture and joined Clayton in 2018. With continued growth in the Greater Indianapolis area, Arbor Homes acquired Louisville-based Elite Homes® by 2021, expanding into the Kentucky and Ohio markets to introduce their first low-maintenance communities and product, Destination by Arbor Homes.

For the future homeowner, Arbor Homes offers a portal that puts the homebuilding process at the customer’s fingertips. With HomeBuildingJourney.com, the homebuyer can view the home construction in real-time, important home documents, Design Center selections and FAQs with useful links to the homebuyer’s guide. They can also complete warranty information, track progress and will receive notification updates on the home build.
